Kevin and Andrea’s south Florida boat elopement had everything you could want – an epic sunrise, clear waters, key lime pie, and bathing suit change!
Kevin and Andrea had been together for five years, but they had never been the type of couple to do things traditionally. So when they decided to get married, they knew that they didn’t want a big wedding with all the stress that came along with it. Instead, they opted for an epic south Florida boat elopement at sunrise.
As the sun began to rise over the ocean, Kevin and Andrea exchanged their vows with only the sound of the waves and the pelicans as witnesses. It was the perfect moment, just the two of them, and they knew that they had made the right decision. As one of the boats drove by, Kevin raised up the “Just Eloped” sign and told the captain they had just “got engaged” #classic
After the ceremony, Kevin and Andrea headed towards a secluded island. On the way, Kevin mixed up some coconut mojitos for them and I made them do the cheesy arm hook photo because WHY NOT. When we go to the island, they anchored the boat and kept one tradition – cutting the cake. But instead of a cake, they opted for one of Florida’s most prized possessions…a Publix key lime pie. IYKYK.
After a little pregaming, they headed for the cooler to grab the one food that all Florida boaters cannot go without – the PubSub, or more commonly known as the Publix Sub. It’s the only sub on the planet made by angels. This is a classic way to really harness the energy of your south Florida boat elopement.
The rest of the day was spent lounging in their swimmies, drinking beers, floatin’ around, and basking in the sun. They were happy, content, and in love. Kevin and Andrea knew that they had made the right decision to elope and spend their special day together in a way that was uniquely their own.
I am still buzzing from Kevin and Andrea’s sunrise boat elopement. It was like something out of a movie, and I mean, I was totally honored to capture it all on camera.
