Florida Adventure Session | Jessie + Josh

When you think of a Florida adventure session, what activities come to mind? While every state has their version of an adventure session, Florida’s version definitely involves the water! Queue – Jessie and Josh’s session!

Jessie is a fellow photographer and one of the funniest people you will ever meet. Her GIF game is strong, ya’ll. After her wedding was postponed because of the RONA, she asked me to take her new save the date photos. Of course, I was stoked. Having another photographer ask you to take their photos is another level.

Their adventure session involved Josh’s contender and cruising around and hopping in Stuart’s waterways. With corona beers in hand, we took their boat out for some Florida-esque photos. And of course, Florida never likes to cooperate so each originally planned spot was a bust because of rough waves, high tide, and manatee zones.

Regardless of all the obstacles, Jessie and Josh managed to be the steamy couple they are and make pure magic even with absolutely no light except Josh’s headlights. We were able to booze cruise to the Stuart inlet, get into the water, and fully embrace the wind. While it wasn’t the session they envisioned, it was definitely the session they embraced and slayed!

This 2020 year has taught me so much. The main lesson I take away from this all (the year and this session) is that you can have a plan, you can do everything in your power to ensure that it goes smoothly, and in an instant it can all be taken away from you.

Moral of the story – go with the flow, overcome the obstacles, stick it out, and have a beer in hand for the ride. There’s light in even the darkest situations.
