You started your elopement photography business on the side of your career. You LOVE having a creative outlet that doesn’t revolve around your career, but now the deeper you get into elopement photography you’re spending more time at home behind your computer than with your partner and you’re burning the candle from both ends…
It’s becoming increasingly more painful every day you have to go into the office – sitting through meeting after meeting, putting out fire after fire, skipping lunch so you can edit galleries due this week, just to go home and sit behind another computer screen until it’s time to go to bed just to do it all over again…leaving no time for yourself at the end of the day.
And there’s a thought that lingers in the back of your mind…“If I could figure out how to replace my income with elopement photography, I’d hand in my notice IMMEDIATELY”
But the problem is you have no idea how to quit your corporate career and go full time in your elopement photography business…
In this resource, I’m sharing the three things that helped me go from a chemical engineer to a thriving Florida elopement photographer.

Quitting your job doesn’t start with handing in your notice. It starts with your mindset. You’ve probably told yourself, “there’s no way in hell I can replace my income with elopement photography” or “I can’t leave the consistent paycheck.” Sound familiar?
Truth is that these limiting beliefs are all fear based – fear of the unknown. Once I met multiple photographers making over six figures and learning how to price myself for sustainabilty (so I can pay myself a paycheck), everything shifted. Once you really believe you can leave your corporate career and go full time, that’s when the magic happens.

Having a plan > Winging it – Once you’ve decided you will quit your corporate career and go full time in your elopement photography business, it’s time to create your Quit Strategy. Creating your Quit Strategy involves calculating your personal expenses, knowing your risk tolerance, determining your Quit Cushion (i.e., how much you need to save to help pay the mortgage once you quit), setting a quit date based on your Quit Cushion savings goals, and knowing the right things to work on to grow your business while working full time.

I know what you’re thinking—“with what time?!” I get it, truly, I do. When I was working full time as an engineering manager, it was hard to juggle work, business, and my personal life. That’s why I needed to be intentional with my time and what I was working on. When you’re working full time, time-blocking and outsourcing the stuff that doesn’t need your personal touch (hello, editing and SEO!) will be your best friend. Once you prioritize your time around tasks that will move the needle in your business, you’ll start to see real growth.

Once you’ve worked through all the quit basics, it’s time to lay the business foundation. This includes marketing, SEO, converting website visitors into inquiries, and so much more. Once all of these come together, you’ll start seeing real growth in your elopement photography business.
If need help sorting through the business foundations, I invite you to join the waitlist for the Elopement Photographer Laboratory, my signature group coaching program designed to help you turn your side hustle into a thriving full-time business.
