Amy and Sam travelled all the way from Vermont and knew exactly what they wanted out of a Florida elopement – a fun filled day on the water with their closest friends and family. They had scoped out the perfect elopement location at Cayo Costa and had everything worked up for the most perfect day.
Fast forward to elopement day and it was beyond windy, which made it not the best conditions for pontooning over an hour away to Cayo Costa. We cruised up and down the intercostal looking for an alternative location and found a little secluded island. Little did we know, there was already a driftwood arch there! It was the coolest thing ever.
During the ceremony, one of their best friends married them with a sand ceremony from the beach. It was short and sweet and absolutely perfect. After Amy and Sam swapped vows, we headed to hang out in the water and take portraits on the beach. With a later afternoon ceremony in spring, portraits were shot in full sun; however, we found amazing spots along the beach to capture their connection and get gorgeous photos!
My favorite part about Amy and Sam’s elopement was when we did our second round of portraits during golden hour. We were all hanging at a local tiki bar that is only accessible by boat. The beach was for hotel guests-only; however, a very kind security guard told us how we could access the beach to ensure that Amy and Sam had those golden hour photos that they deserved on their day!
It was an absolutely laid back day (even if Amy did lose her Maui Jims during boat hangs) that was exactly what they envisioned. I’m so honored to have been a part of their elopement and capture these moments for them. Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Keane!
