Jessica and Zach’s anniversary session was the creative energy I needed after the slow summer months here in Florida. We are all from the same small town and it’s pretty common that at some point you’ve participated in the Fort Pierce Shitty Bar Tour (that’s a story for another time). The essence of the tour is that you visit all the bars in town starting on the island and working you way inland. One place in particular is a local hot spot for drive-through rum runners and late-night adventures – Saint Lucie Inn.
Let’s rewind to the beginning of this love tale. Jessica recalls their first hang with a chuckle: “On August 1st, 2021, I swiped right on my now husband. On August 6th, I was planning to go out with my best friend all over The Fort [insert Fort Pierce Shitty Bar Tour]. I invited Zachary to join if he thought he could ‘hang’. He met us at the St. Lucie Inn and continued to party with us ALL night.”
Little did they know that this spontaneous hangout would mark the beginning of a beautiful journey together. Fast forward a few months, a sprinkle of costume party fun (featuring a Speedo-wearing swim coach), a heartfelt proposal, and a casual wedding in Jupiter – their love story unfolded in lightning speed.
Ironically, their wedding took place precisely 365 days after they first met.
When Jessica reached out for their anniversary session, she wanted it to be effortless and relaxed – just the two of them reenacting the adventure of their first hangout.
We planned a cozy evening at the Saint Lucie Inn filled with drive-through rum runners, shooting pool, taking pineapple upside-down shots, dancing like nobody’s watching, and a bit of dart throwing for good measure. It had all the spark and magic of their first hang.
If you’re reading this and thinking about your own love story, envisioning an anniversary session that captures your love story, I’m here to make it happen. Let’s plan an anniversary session that’s as unique as your love story.
