If you’re dreaming about an Orlando elopement that feels more like a date night than just a courthouse appointment, then Llio and Jack’s elopement is going to be just what the doctor ordered. From their first look by a bus stop to a spontaneous first dance while waiting on their first-ever Publix chicken tender sub (iconic), this elopement was equal parts intimate, adventurous, and fun – all the best ingredients for an Orlando elopement.
As an Orlando elopement photographer, it is my mission to help couples to create these types of elopements where the focus is on the two of them and who they are as a couple. It’s no longer about creating days that check off boxes, but creating an experience that they can still be excited about decades later. Ready to see how their day unfolded?!
Llio and Jack are originally from Wales and met back in university in Cardiff and they hit it off right away. Fast forward a few years, and they’ve become inseparable travelers, foodies, and best friends. Throughout their entire relationship, they’ve loved nothing more than exploring new places, enjoying good food, and spending quality time together. After losing both of their dads, they rethought the whole big wedding plan and decided to elope in a way that felt intentional and real.
They chose an Orlando elopement because it offered them tons of sunshine (something I learned we take for granted here in Florida), vintage stops along the way, and tons of iconic moments throughout the day.
Their elopement started at the Orange County Courthouse, with a first look near the Courthouse Station bus stop. Jack rolled up in a vintage Porsche while Llio arrived with her family. This first look in such an urban location still had all the intimate feeling you’d expect, but with a unique backdrop.
They had their simple ceremony right outside under the overhang of the Orange County Courthouse with just a handful of their closest people. As a Florida notary, I legally married them with my nifty stamp. While Florida doesn’t require witnesses, both of their moms signed as a little personal touch. After they said their vows, their family threw dried rose petals as they walked down a makeshift aisle.
After the ceremony, we hit the streets of downtown Orlando in a vintage Porsche they’d rented for the day (YES PLEASE). Vintage photos were important to Llio and Jack so we planned in some iconic spots along the way. First up, Le Belle, a vintage fur storage shop. To ring in their marriage, we stopped at the Grand Bohemian for celebratory cocktails and portraits around the uniquely designed boutique hotel (heads up – this location requires permission in advance to take photos on-site).
And after cocktails? Publix. While we were there to grab some key lime pie, Llio and Jack mentioned they’d never tried a Publix chicken tender sub before. As a Florida native, I had to introduce them. While we were waiting on the sub, their favorite love song started playing in the store. So naturally, they danced right there in the aisle and it made for the most perfect impromptu first dance.
They split their chicken tender sub on the hood of the Porsche in the Publix parking lot. Before heading out, we decided to get creative with the shopping carts. So they enjoyed their celebratory key lime pie in some shopping carts! These are still some of my favorite photos of a couple eating key lime pie!
We wrapped up the day at a fun vintage apartment complex where they popped champagne!
The best thing about eloping in Orlando is how customizable and low-stress it is. There’s so many different things you can do in Orlando from low key adventures like this one to all day exploring! No matter where you fall on the elopement adventure spectrum, I’d love to show you how it can all come together.
As an Orlando elopement photographer, I specialize in helping couples create their dream elopement experiences by providing expert and local guidance. I help with everything from location researching, timeline creation, permit guidance, and vendor recommendations. I’m here to make sure your day feels like the most epic date night you’ve ever had.
